This was discovered by total accident. As you an barely see, my logo (on the right) does not show up on MyBlogLog's Member's Script. The script from MBL is seen on the picture below on the left.
I thought at 1st, there might be an error on their end (Since they just installed new servers).
So, I decided to check my theory on 2 other sites I visit. My Logo does not appear on their list either. What is going on ???
There is 3 possible answers.
- (A) Yahoo is screwing up ???
- (B) Bad script installed on website(s) ???
- (C) or it is here on my end ????
The answer believe it or not is (C) here at my end !!!
I remembered a small clause in my firewall that says :
Filter persistent cookies (as seen below)
MyBlogLog use's cookies to identify users (among other things).
My firewall (Kerio) blocks all MBL Cookies. It also blocks all updates from Microsoft. (Let's see if they sneak another update to this user without my knowledge)
The Firewall to protect updates from Microsoft (and it does). I was not aware (silly me) that it would effect any other services (Since I use the expert mode).
Usually will ask me what to do, but not in this case, since the parameter's were already set.
Now we know how to block MyBlogLog tracking cookies easily. What a way to 'Stumble' across this !Labels: breaking news os9user cookies mbl mybloglog firewall
