Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.
Military.com stated that Reality’s mother sent a Twitter message that said “Cohen has asked another attorney to look at the case and for opportunities to help.”

Some ISP providers start Copyright Alert System (CAS) before Nov 28th
November 12, 2012
Bad News For Consumers
The program, which monitors peer-to-peer file-sharing services (CAS) is NOW ACTIVE. Participation by AT&T, Cablevision Systems, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Verizon made this program possible in the United States comes fully online shortly. AT&T STARTS BEFORE NOVEMBER 28TH AT&T will get a lot more aggressive with its customers over suspected internet piracy. The incomplete leak by AT&T shows that on the fourth warning AT&T customers
will be redirected to an "education page" when they try to reach certain
unspecified sites. CAS comes completely online on November 28, in the week
following Thanksgiving, and it is expected that
Cablevision, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon will announce
similar plans. Our staff spent alot of time on this story, and we verified it's accuracy as best as we can. Here’s how the program works: On the first offense, internet subscribers will receive an e-mail
“alert” from their ISP saying the account “may have been” misused for
online content theft. On the second offense, the alert might contain an
“educational message” about the legalities of online file sharing. On the third and fourth infractions, the subscriber will likely
receive a pop-up notice “asking the subscriber to acknowledge receipt of
the alert.” After four alerts, according to the program, “mitigation measures”
may commence. They include “temporary reductions of internet speeds,
redirection to a landing page until the subscriber contacts the ISP to
discuss the matter or reviews and responds to some educational
information about copyright, or other measures (as specified in
published policies) that the ISP may deem necessary to help resolve the
matter.” The burden of proof is on the consumer to prove them wrong. And the
alleged infringer is even limited in the ways they can attempt to do
that. In essence, the Copyright Alert System is an effort to privately
rewrite copyright law to make an accused liable for infringement until
proven innocent.
when the first infringement is detected, “you will get an alert.”
But after that, strikes will only be counted every seven days. “There’s a
grace period between each alert.” Users who feel they have been falsely accused have a right of appeal at
any stage, the CCI states, and any requests will be subject to an
independent review from the American Arbitration Association. Is there a way around this detection ??? Sure, like anything else there are ways to be undetected. Some ways are ; 1) Using a VPN 2) Running additonal software blocking ISP's from prowling in your computer. This posting was to educate, not to hack. There are ways to go undetected and verify you are indeed undetected on the internet when downloading torrents. I am what most people would call a "White Knight". I hate hackers. However, the only way to beat a hacker is become one yourself. So I am very familiar with some "nasty" tactics that hackers & your ISP use to catch people. What these companies are doing is dead wrong. How it works in English ; Lets say ; Company "X" calls your ISP reporting this IP address has downloaded a copyright file. Company "X" knows the time, date, your IP address, and the filename of the alleged violation. They share this information with your ISP. Here is the catch ; If Company "X" makes a mistake by chance your ISP could really careless. Your ISP is going to look up "WHO" that IP address belongs to , and start sending you Copyright Alerts right thru your computer (popup's). It is all computerized after the 1st report made to your ISP. How did you get detected ???? Well, they were in the SWARM to begin with, and everyone that comes onboard could be detected depending on how you got there to begin with. Most people would be detected immediately. Now before everyone jumps up and goes and gets a VPN (Virtual Private Network), remember one thing. The minute your internet connection is drop'd and re-established your real IP shows up in the SWARM. VPN's are NOT bullet proof by any means. You will be detected ! When someone downloads a torrent on your internet connection, your IP address enters the SWARM. The minute that happens, they caught you. It is that simple. If someone else is on your internet connection without your knowledge you will be held accountable. If you generate an open Wireless signal, you might want to put some kind of key on it ( Ex. WPA or WPA2 ). Downloading Torrents IS LEGAL. Downloading Copyrighted material is NOT. Make sure you understand the difference ! There is NO blacklist. The Center for Copyright Information will protect your privacy. The exact way they are going to do this is "Unknown" as of November 2012.
Parents, a word of caution. I have personally seen "kids" download music without having a clue on exactly how they got it. The kids see their song, and "just download it".
Well, a little common sense, If it is a movie, music or game that just came out this year, the odds that it is Copy Protected, and guess what comes next .... Please take precautions; OS9USER & StaffIndependent Expert Assessment.content.cci_.Redacted
